Why programming?
Not only to make an impression but I do think we need to get down to business and I know that money talks, it´s worth knowing the maths of this profession. Currently in Hungary the monthly average salary approximates 200.000 HUF (approx. 800 USD). This does not apply to those who are at the beginning of their career - it is the rough national average including the real millionaires and sweepers as well. That´s right, 800 USD.
Let us look into the wallet of a programming expert. What we have observed is that their career entrant wages way exceed average with a net of 300.000 HUF. Not after a few years of experience but as beginning wage, indeed as a result of their first month of persevering work they are already rewarded with such amount.
As experience and skill grow and they become more adept at web development, programming applications and developing unique softwares, progammers are able to make as much as half a million HUF (approx 2000 USD) as their monthly salary, within a few years after they started working. As in all professions the real talents and the most diligent and relentless ones stand out even more and can earn up to 600-700 000 HUF a month.
The background of it all is not that a programmer is overpayed or that it`s a snob line of work. The secret is simple, developing a software or application saves so much time and money for the client that his development is worth multiple of what he is actually being payed for his expertise.
Should you choose programing as your occupation you will obtain a value-creating and highly-payed knowledge. It is all up to you.
Choosing career is always a tough issue but at one point all of us arrives at this crucial landmark in life. It is not easy nowadays to make it to a good university as the number of applicants are 5x or tenfold of the capacity of one establishment and even after many years of study fresh career entrants with a diploma or two have to face many difficulties in finding jobs. According to certain sources there are at least 10.000 empty positions to be filled for programmers and for developers.
This number reaches as high as several hundreds of thousands within Europe.
